Because we all experience challenges, I believe we all can benefit from consulting with a Psychologist - a trained expert in behavior and behavior change - at some point in our lives.
Whatever circumstance brings you here, I'm glad you're reaching out. Whether it feels that way or not, seeking support means you have the courage that many don't have - to confront your challenges, examine your assumptions, try something unfamiliar, and do the sometimes scary and uncomfortable but ultimately deeply rewarding work needed to connect with your capacity to heal, become the person you want to be and create the life you deserve to live. I'm here to help.

My Specialties and Professional Passions
I believe the challenges women face as we navigate the different seasons of our lives are all riffs on a common melody. We leave ourselves behind as we care for everyone else, lose our natural authenticity as play the roles expected of us, or pursue a definition of success that leaves us unbalanced, exhausted, and ultimately unfulfilled. I am truly passionate about helping women who are finally ready to play their own tune!
Enhancing Self-Worth and Releasing Shame
Sometimes life experiences lead us to believe that there's something wrong with us and we don't deserve life's rewards, but that's not true. Like all living beings, you were born to flourish - it's your birthright. After decades of battling my own inexhaustible inner critic, and finally reaching a space of inner safety and self-compassion, I'm on a personal mission to help others do the same.
Chronic Health Challenges and Pain
In conjunction with more traditional medical therapies, strategies based in Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy and Mind/Body Medicine have been found to be helpful in relieving suffering for many people, reducing the need for medication, building resilience, and improving quality of life. With practice in these proven strategies, you can experience relief, take your life back, and your condition no longer needs to define you.
If stress has been a source of distress for you, if it's had an impact on your health, your well-being, your relationships, or your ability to succeed at what's important to you, I'll teach you to manage your nervous system so you can perform at your best and take on whatever life throws at you. My approach is customized to you and holistic - integrating a wide array of practical and evidence-based approaches to optimize your results.
Food, Weight, and Body Image Concerns
It's time to be freed from your food, weight, and body image difficulties and to replace them with self-kindness, self-care, and sustainable wellness and well-being. I'm particularly interested in offering tools for living in harmony and peace with our bodies to midlife women who so often add our aging bodies to the list of things about ourselves we fight against. My approach is weight neutral, non-judgmental, and always tailored to you.

Who I work with
I'm a New York State Licensed Psychologist located in the Albany area, but with telehealth, I am able to work with all New Yorkers. In certain circumstances, I am able to work with people who live in other states.
I work with adults and specialize in women's issues, but do not discriminate based on gender. I do not work with couples, children, or adolescents. I also do not work with active substance abuse as I do not have the specialized training and experience required to support the challenges of this specific impairment.
Getting Started and the Therapy Process
Our first meeting will typically be a free phone consultation that will last about 10-15 minutes. In that time, we'll briefly discuss what you're seeking to gain from therapy and whether I might be a good match for your needs. If you prefer, this can be done via email.
Once we schedule an appointment, I'll send you an invitation to my secure client portal, where you'll access your paperwork. That's where you'll be able to sign onto your teletherapy sessions.
My practice is currently completely online. Sessions are conducted via an easy to navigate, HIPAA compliant platform, so you don't have to leave your home or office. Teletherapy is so safe, simple, and convenient. My clients have been loving it!
Depending on your goals and the issues you are seeking to address, psychotherapy can last just a few sessions or can continue for significantly longer. We generally begin with weekly meetings, and as you get closer to your goals, we decrease the frequency to biweekly or monthly.
Sessions are approximately 55 minutes long.
My fee is $200 per session.
In certain circumstances, your health insurance policy may cover our work together. I am currently in-network with:
- Highmark/Blue Shield of Northeastern New York
- Oscar Health
- United Healthcare
If you participate with one of these plans, you may be responsible for a copayment or deductible. The amount you will be responsible for is dictated by your insurance plan and I am required to collect it.
I don't accept other insurance plans at present but at your request will provide you a statement you can send to your insurance company to get reimbursed for some of the costs of therapy.
If you don't intend to use insurance, click here to understand your rights to receive a "Good Faith Estimate" of costs.
Payment is required at the time of service. I will charge your credit card on file at the end of your session.
Since the scheduling of an appointment involves the reservation of time specifically for you, a minimum of 24 hours notice is required for re-scheduling or canceling an appointment. Failing to do so will result in a no-show/late cancellation fee of $100, not billable to insurance.
